The new brand of HanseYachts AG

In order to achieve the medium-term goal of increasing turnover to 200 million euros with an EBITDA margin of 10%, HanseYachts AG will go the next step towards expansion: the establishment of the seventh Group brand RYCK.

The choice of the new brand name is a clear commitment to the location in Greifswald at the Baltic coast. Dr. Jens Gerhardt says: “The first waterway that the new boats from RYCK Yachts will sail is the river Ryck. Along it, our boats not only reach the Bay of Greifswald as part of the Baltic Sea, they are also distributed all over the world from here.”

Head of Sales Maxim Neumann adds: “The market for motor yachts is growing twice as fast as the one for sailing yachts. With RYCK, we are supplementing our model range with motor yachts from 24 to 39 foot. In the past, we were not sufficiently represented in this market segment.”

The new brand’s first model is the nine-meter long RYCK 280, which was developed in cooperation with renowned British yacht designer Bill Dixon. He comments on his concept thus: “Our focus and our biggest challenge in the development of the new RYCK 280 was to find a balance between the open layout of a day cruiser, the integration of a comfortable cabin, and a stylish sporty design.”

The sophisticated deck layout is distinctive of the new RYCK 280. She is designed as a walk-around: You can easily reach every place on board. The circumferential passage is approximately 25 centimeters wide and bordered by a high bulwark and a railing. This creates a great sense of security, also for smaller passengers. Even underway, the cushioned sun pad at the bow can be reached without a problem.

Six configurations are available for different lifestyles: SPEED & PERFORMANCE, CRUISE & SWIM, DIVE & CLIMB, FISH & BARBECUE, TRIPS & WEEKENDS and SURF & FUN. Beyond that, there are a number of additional individualization options, just as is usual for much larger yachts. RYCK makes this possible on nine meters now.

Even when it comes to the speed, the RYCK 280 can be configured, with three different engines to choose from – starting at 250 and reaching 350 HP. The most powerful outboard engine transforms the RYCK 280 into a strong speed boat.

The new RYCK 280 is nominated as “European Powerboat of the Year 2022”.
