Hanse Cup Adria – a great success!

Co-organized by Croatia Yachting and Split Yachting club Zenta, this year's traditional Hanse Cup Adriatic took place from 9th to 12th April in the waters of the Central Dalmatia, gathering 14 crews from Croatia, Germany, UK, Austria and Slovenia. The route, as always, “sailed“ through the beautiful archipelago of the islands of Vis and Hvar, ending in the West Coast of Split. The participants enjoyed local taverns and restaurants every night, tasting local wine and listening to live music.
The race saw participation of almost all Hanse models divided into three groups, sailing according to the National measurement system (NHP) so that all boats could have equal chances to win.
The first race started from Split towards Vis in strong Bora of up to 30 knots, continuing in strong Tramontana wind of up to 25 knots once passed “Splitska vrata”. On the second day Sirocco of maximum 15 knots carried the boats from Vis to Hvar. The third day was sailed from Hvar to Split (“Splitska vrata”) in light sirocco of maximum 10 knots in decline.
The overall winner of the Hanse Cup Adriatic was the crew on Hanse 445 „Ginger“ with the skipper Marko Marinović, followed by Hanse 415 and the skipper Frank Honan. The third place was taken by the crew of Hanse 430 „Lana I“ with the skipper Marijan Novak.
