One weekend of boating on the water is like a full week's vacation. Jason and Suzie Terry can confirm this — as often as possible they set course to explore the picturesque South coast of England on their SEALINE F530 together with their dog Poppy. Owning a SEALINE F42/5 they admired the larger motorboat from afar and decided it was their ideal upgrade. The SEALINE F530 would provide extra space making boating with a dog on board more comfortable. By chance, Jason found out in early 2020 about the sale of this yacht and immediately booked flights to Jersey to see it. They took ownership faster than expected on the day of the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown.

Adventure on England's coasts with a dog on board has never been easier

Loving the F530’s modern styling and innovative use of space, they both fully enjoy their time on board. The light airy saloon with the full-height glass sliding doors makes life at sea even more pleasant for them. The hydraulic platform turned out to be really handy for launching their dinghy or Jet Ski, or allowing their best friend Labrador Poppy to comfortably take a dip in coastal waters. Their dog Poppy was first acquainted to the F530 at nine weeks old. As a typical Labrador she loves water and jumping off the boat's bathing platform. Whilst she wears a buoyancy aid when cruising, the F530’s high side rails mean they don’t have to worry about Poppy losing her footing. While underway, she loves standing on the flybridge watching the world go by. Usually Jason is the helmsman, but Suzie takes over whenever he wants to relax and enjoy the cruise from the flybridge.

Boating on the weekends anchoring at stunning locations

Their weekends are always planned with a boat trip from their home port Hythe Marina in Southampton, UK. Many of England's most lovely costal destinations are reachable within a stone’s throw. As soon as work is finished on Friday, they grab their luggage and head to the marina with their dog Poppy. Depending on the weather, they love to anchor just off the South coast of England at the Isle of Wight, in bays like Totland, Colwell or Priory Bay. Marina-wise they also enjoy visiting Bembridge, Yarmouth and Lymington. When work allows, they take the SEALINE further afield and have some great trips down the west coast, travelling to Dorset, Devon and Cornwall with various stops on route. A special highlight for them this year was anchoring in Lantic Bay near Fowey. It’s one of the most stunning and isolated locations in Cornwall with turquoise water and a beach with near white sand backed by high verdant cliffs. When travel becomes less restricted, the next point on their list is travelling to France and exploring the Channel Islands — and for sure to continue enjoying the F530 for many years to come!
