From England with Love

A journey with oversize

Despite all Brexit discussions, the cooperation between Poole, England and Les Sables d´Olonne works excellent. The mould for the deck of the new Privilège Signature 510 was carefully handcrafted in Poole and send away to France. Shipping a package being 15 m long and 7.5 m wide, doesn`t come easy. First challenge was to reach the water on a special-purpose truck, passing narrow tunnels and roads.

In the harbour the bulky freight was lifted on a barge meanwhile tugboat MTS Taktow already was preparing to tow the valuable loaded vessel into open waters. With an average speed of 5 knots the convoy slowly crossed the English Channel, known as the busiest shipping area in the world. After passing the rocky coastline of Finistère, the notorious Bay of Biscay welcomed the well secured deck mould under best weather conditions. After nine days of travel the freight finally arrived safe and sound at the Privilège shipyard in Les Sables d`Olonne. CEO Gilles Wagner: “Our Privilège Signature 510 made her first 400 NM without even having a hull. We can`t wait until she is ready to conquer the sea on her own!”
