Bluewater sailing friends at the wheel of their yacht

Konnichiwa Japan

The new Moody Decksaloon 41 has aroused international interest with its imaginative implementation of the one-level living concept on only 41 feet (12.5 m). Sailors in Germany, Great Britain and Denmark have already opted for the weatherproof all-rounder. Now, for the first time, she has also been delivered overseas. At the beginning of April, the fifth sailing yacht in her model series arrived by cargo ship at the Yokohama Bayside Marina in Japan. In keeping with the Japanese proverb “Good things are best done at once” (Zen-wa isoge). The team from Winckler and Co. Ltd. did not miss the opportunity to set off on a test run from Tokyo Bay to the volcanic island of Oshima in the open Pacific. Mount Fuji, Japan's sacred volcano and highest mountain, presented itself as a dignified landmark on the main island of Honshu. Back on land, the bright-blue yacht celebrated its Japan premiere at the Japan International Boat Show a short time later.
