A stroke of genius - from the drawing board to overseas

Team Windcraft, Moody Yacht's exclusive importer for Australia and New Zealand, has ordered the first 2 of the brand new Moody 54 Deck Saloon for the Australian market. A force in the global market for Moody Yachts, Windcraft have sold over 20 Moody Yachts in the last 4 years and 12 of them being Moody Deck Saloons to Australian and New Zealand owners. The new luxury blue water cruisers will be arriving in time for the Sydney International Boat Show 2014.

"We're very excited to have the first two 54 DSs here in Australia" says Windcraft's Managing Director, Peter Hrones.

"It's a great boat for the extremes in our climate. The cockpit area shelters you from the weather and the fantastic awning system gives you much needed UV protection from the intense Australian sun. The deck saloon is one of the most comfortable, stress free ways to sail anywhere, hot or cold, in the world. The Moody deck saloons are also one of the only true Deck saloons yachts on the market with a true 360 degree view with continuous inside outside flow and a dedicated inside helm and navigation station."

Peter Hrones continues, "The excellent hand-built finish and high-end equipment list on the Moody 54 DS makes this model perfect for long distance cruising."

The two new 54 DSs will have different layouts. Hull # 1 will be the galley up option, with 4 cabins - ideal for families. The galley up version offers more sleeping space downstairs and allows parents to watch children while cooking and entertaining upstairs. Hull # 2 will have 3 cabins and a very large galley down below for those wanting more cooking space, storage and room for lounging and entertaining in the deck saloon. The owner of hull#002 has already made plans to also compete in the 70th Sydney to Hobart with family and friends aboard.

The extra 9 feet on the 54 DS from the 45 DS is most noticeable in the extra large saloon and the cabins. Owners now have the option of adding a guest cabin to be just as good as the owner's cabin, a benefit for long passages and extended periods living aboard. The new dinghy garage offers out of the way storage and easy access for going on excursions or ashore.
