Skipper and crew member of the Tiger sail off the coast of Auckland, New Zealand

Land in sight! Arriving at the fifth continent

Do you remember our 10,000th yacht? After an almost two-months sea voyage around the globe, she has reached Auckland, the “city of sails” in New Zealand. Early in the morning, our Hanse 458 left the cargo ship “Tiger”. The new owner was overjoyed when his new Hanse yacht was launched into water and the champagne was popped together with Team Windcraft. The maiden voyage was not long in coming. With the skyline of Auckland abeam, the team sailed the yacht to Westhaven Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere. On the way there, the yacht showed what it was capable of: “Her upwind speed is really impressive,” the new owner raved. First, he wants to explore the area around his new home territory. Especially the northern Hauraki Gulf with its turquoise-blue waters and the emerald islands are on the bucket list. The crowning highlight will be the local Hanse Owner's Rally in February 2020. Six sunny months will then lie in the wake of our anniversary yacht before she moors in her home port, Wiakawa on the South Island of New Zealand. We wish the new dream team all the best and hope to hear from them again soon!
