13th HANSE CUP on Bay of Greifswald

60 Hanse Crews met to the sporty family fest. Super participation, beautiful route and best weather

Like in the last years the HANSE CUP lured many Hanse owners to a 4 days taking sailing festival and great races in late summer also in 2010. The 13th Hanse Cup was held around the Bay of Greifswald this time.

Start and goal of the HANSE CUP was Greifswald. Already on friday, the 3rd September the 233 members arrived with all in all 60 boats in the habour of Greifswald. On Saturday at 11 o´clock all boats started to the first race from Greifswald to Kröslin. On Sunday the route led the members in the direction to Lauterbach on the island Rügen. On Monday the skippers sailed a challenging heading from Lauterbach to Stralsund and on Tuesday back gain to to the starting point Greifswald. 

At the end of each sailing leg the winner was discussed after the award ceremony to music and meals, but it was also hilarious celebrated. After the last leg on Tuesday afternoon the winner of the whole leg was chosen in the habour of Greifswald.  

The fastest teams were the crews arround the skippers Burkhard Kadow with the "Champus", a Hanse 370, who finished third. As well as skipper Dr. Jörg Krohn and his crew with the Hanse 400 "Asia De Cuba", who got a well-earned second place. The outstanding winner of the HANSE CUP 2010 was Dietmar Wendel with his team on the Hanse 370 "Relax de luxe".

The organiser, the Hanse Deutschland Vertiebs GmbH & Co. KG (www.hanseyachtsvertrieb.de), is looking forward to the 14th HANSE CUP 2011 at the first weekend of september and hopes furthermore for many enthusiastic members and thrilling races.
