Profile HanseYachts AG - HANSEGROUP

Developed by sailors, tested on the Baltic Sea, sold all over the world!

Based on the number of yachts sold throughout the world, HanseYachts AG is one of the two largest manufacturers of seagoing sailing yachts. HanseYachts AG is active all over the world in the field of sailing yachts and motor yachts.

Since the company was founded in 1990, HanseYachts AG achieved this outstanding position in the global water sports industry with entrepreneurial qualities and vision, a clear target group orientation, efficient production processes - and above all with excellent employees. All employees at HanseYachts AG, from the management board and yacht designers to engineers and installers on the production line, therefore have one thing in common: Passion for the sea.

HanseYachts AG now employs more than 1,050 employees across the company group and is one of the biggest employers in the Greifswald region. HanseYachts AG has been listed since 2007 (General Standard) with a current total of around 23,23% freely traded shares. Aurelius AG in Munich has been the largest shareholder since 2011 with around 76,77% of the issued shares.

HanseYachts AG comprises the sailing yacht brands Hanse, Dehler, Moody and Varianta and the motor yacht brands Fjord and Sealine. The following graphic shows how the brands were added to the group. From the own brand "Hanse" in 1990, through to the most recent acquisition of the "Sealine" brand in 2013, growth is the clear goal.

The HanseYachts AG team is made up of people who come from the water, are at home on the water and therefore carry out their work with dedication. The quality of our employees has always been and will remain a solid platform for our success.
We build on the outstanding experience of our people and their focus on the product to constantly improve our yachts and make them safer, higher quality and more powerful. And ultimately to launch each new model on the market with resounding success.

As a global player with a worldwide dealer network, we are familiar with the different requirements of sailors and motor boat drivers in all parts of the world. This is reflected in our multi-brand strategy. A worldwide sales and marketing team focuses on new yacht sales and is always looking for ways to improve distribution and expand the sales area.

Our own production sites enable efficient production and quick reaction times with precise planning. The entire GRP production is carried out by master craftsmen with meticulous manual work. The skills range from simple laminating work for small parts, building the hulls in the hand lay-up process, through to weight-optimized vacuum infusion for selected yacht types.

At the company headquarters in Greifswald on the Baltic Sea, the individual components are combined to create a complete yacht. In addition to the production lines where the yachts are created, all the wood and interior components are also manufactured here. An ultra-modern machine park with CNC milling machines carries out the entire cutting process, while highly trained experts assemble the furniture.

The direct location on the Baltic Sea means that the yachts can be tested extensively in their natural environment. This enables us to ensure that each new development is tried and tested thoroughly before being sold on the market. This categorically rules out any serious error sources at a later stage. In addition to the components manufactured in-house, we also work with premium suppliers. This includes for example motors from Volvo Penta, navigation electronics from B&G and Raymarine, sails from Elvström, heating systems from Eberspächer and many other well-known suppliers. Three things are essential for us when selecting suppliers: high quality, reliable delivery with consistent qualities and a comprehensive service for our customers after the purchase.

One of the main strengths of HanseYachts AG is the in-house development department with connected mold milling facility. A team of 25 engineers and technicians, absolute experts in their fields with extensive experience in yacht building, focus on the development of furniture, technology, systems and installations for all new developments. Our in-house 5-axis CNC milling machine with a size of 6 x 16 meters turns the data on the PC into reality. This ensures a short time-to-market and independence from external companies. The efficient use of platforms and modules comparable with the automotive industry enables us to develop new products cost-effectively and to make them ready for series production in just a short time.

We work with world-renowned design agencies to achieve the nautical design of the yachts. Names such as Bill Dixon (Dixon Design), Patrick Banfield (Allseas Design) and Judel/Vrolijk & co are well established in the world of yachting and give the yachts their typical character. We work closely with these names to create yachts which live up to our motto "Breaking Rules & Setting Trends".
