First sea trial with the new FJORD 53XL

The new flagship of the FJORD fleet, the first FJORD 53 XL, is in the water! Just a few minutes after the water launch, the eight-man test team of HanseYachts AG set off for the premier cruise on the Bay of Greifswald in Germany. In order to simulate the handling of the motor yacht under full load, a total of 2.5 tons water ballast sacks on the bathing platform and on both sides of the running deck provided additional weight on board.
Despite 20 knots of wind and cool Baltic Sea weather, the shipyard-new motorboat fully met the crew's expectations. During various manoeuvres and speeds, the team tested the performance of the engine and the fuel consumption on the water. The handling of the yacht was also put through its paces during curvy drives. With a top speed of 33 knots, a sporty performance and stable handling, the FJORD 53 XL proved that she not only has a lot to offer in terms of design.
