Dehler 30 one design training weekend

Seven new owners followed Speedsailing's call for the first official one design class meeting on the Warnow. With their partly unusual hull designs, black sails and many colorful sheets, halyards and ropes, the new racer cruisers attracted some a curious audience among passers-by. The one design sailors exchanged ideas, tinkered and trimmed, before the lines were released after a first training session on Saturday for the demanding 300 nm training trip around Seeland. The strong SW- wind with gusts up to Bft 7+ provided some exciting moments as the flotilla surfed along the Warnow towards the Baltic Sea. The crew of “Crazy boats” (GER 022) decided to quit towards Heiligenhafen a few hours after the start due to the strong swell. Six crews mastered the first wet trip through the night, while five boats rounded the largest Danish island in just under 36 hours. On Tuesday at 01:56 “Power play” reported the first ship home between the coal fires off Warnemünden. A little later the happy crews of “Play Harder” (GER 001), “Joint Venture” (GER 028), “Tuto Bene” (GER 023) and “Hornfisch” (GER 020) arrived safely.

The next dates for the Dehler 30 one design class are the Blue Ribbon Cup in Kiel (21.-23.08.) and the Kieler Woche (5.-13.09.). For this year's “Silver Rudder” 9 boats of this class are already registered.
