The establishment of the class association was the next milestone in the creation of the new offshore one design sailboat class after the start of series production of the Dehler 30 one design. About twenty members came together at the foundation event. Uwe Barthel was elected as the chairman. The experienced dinghy and offshore regatta sailor has already successfully participated in offshore regattas such as the Rolex Middle Sea Race and has long-term experience in the management of class associations. Karl Dehler (technical chairman) and Felix Hauß (groundsman) were appointed as deputy and driving forces of the project. Further functions were filled by Andreas Deubel (treasurer) and Oliver Denzer (public relations).

“We want to become a modern class that is open to everyone, grows quickly and sets new accents in offshore regatta sport with a large field at a high sporting level”, Felix Hauß of Speedsailing summarized the goal.

At first the entry into the national regatta scene is planned, among others the participation in the Baltic 500, the Silverrudder and the Kieler Woche. Just as fast, the Dehler 30 one design shall establish itself as an international class. In the mixed offshore discipline, the jump to the Olympics beckons already in 2024.
